My very first contribution to Wikipedia was on 11 Nov 2003 when I created the article Francois Hotman, who happens to be my own direct ancestor. (cf: American descent from Francois Hotman).  Three days later, I edited the Synod of Whitby, Compiegne, Wilfrid, 669, Dagobert II, List of Frankish kings, Theuderic III of the Franks, Ecgfrith of Northumbria, Aethelthryth, Aella of Deira, Aethelfrith of Northumbria and Edwin of Northumbria.  Evidently I must have been reading a life of Dagobert when I did all this.

For some reason I then stopped for six months, my next edits being in April of 2004, when I edited a bunch of articles on early English monarchs, and then added details of the parents of the U.S. presidents to all their articles.  The most addictive part of Wikipedia to me, is being able to correct errors, and add details, immediately.
