James (1566-1625) I, King of England, 1603-1625

He was the son of Henry Stewart, Lord Darnley and Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots.

He succeeded his mother Mary, Queen of Scots as Ruler of Scotland upon her death by execution while he was an infant.

In 1589 he married Anne of Denmark.

He succeeded his cousin Elizabeth as the ruler of England in 1603 upon her death.

He died in 1625, and was succeeded as King of England by his son, Charles I, King of England.
