Kristy got her start in television at age 7, because her mother, who did some acting, took her to the set.

James Vincent McNichol was born about 1938/9, the son of James Vincent McNichol, by his wife Alice Wester. He married Carolyn Zakoor in Los Angeles County in 1960. They had three children, including Kristy, and divorced in 1966. They both later re-married.

He married Alice Wester. In the 1957 obituary of Alice's father Aloys, Alice is called "Mrs. J. McNichol (Alice) of Burbank California"

Alice Wester was born about 1912 in or near Albany, Stearns County, Minnesota, the daughter of Aloys Wester by his wife Theresa Tholl.

In her father's 1957 obituary, she is called "Mrs. J. McNichol (Alice) of Burbank California"

All eight of Alice' great-grandparents were born in Luxembourg.
