Samuel Latham Mitchell Barlow
He was born in Granville, Massachusetts 5 Jun 1826. He was named for his grandfather. His father was a physician, Samuel Bancroft Barlow who married a descendent of Capt. Joe Wadsworth of Charter Oak fame. There were several children by this marriage, with S L M Barlow being the eldest.
By the time he was 14 his family lived in New York City. He married Alice Cornell Townsend, daughter of Peter Townsend, and had two children : Peter Townsend Barlow (b 1857), and Alice Wadsworth Barlow (1853-1882) who would become the mother of Julia Lynch Olin.
He died in 1889 at his Summer home in Glen Cove, New York.
