'''Gavin Newsom''', Mayor of San Francisco ==Gavin Newsom== Gavin Christopher Newsom was born 10 Oct 1967 in San Francisco County, California, the son of William Newsom and Tessa Menzies. He has (or had) a younger sister Hilary B Newsom born Dec 1968. His parents divorced in 1972. At age ten Gavin and his mother (and sister?) moved to Marin County, California. His father William, a tax attorney, was appointed to the Superior Court bench in Placer County in 1975 by Governor Jerry Brown. In 1978 he was elevated to the state Court of Appeal in San Francisco, from where he retired in 1995. He manages the Gordon P Getty Family Trust. Gavin Newsom was appointed to a position by Mayor Willie Brown, later became a City Supervisor, and then was elected Mayor of San Francisco at the end of 2003. Newsom was married to San Francisco prosecutor, Kimberly Guilfoyle, but they have since divorced.
