They had an elder son Kenneth Dryden Richardson born in 1949. Douglas graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1973 with a B.A. in History and then the University of Wisconsin at Madison in 1977 with an M.A. in History. Douglas married Rozanne Somerville on 31 Dec 31 1980 and they had six children: Wayne H, Elizabeth G, Avyette A, Mary E S, Joan E, and William M. In 1990 the family lived in Bethany, Oklahoma County, [[Oklahoma]]. Douglas has writen four books on genealogy including his most recent, an update to David Faris' [[Plantagenet Ancestry]]. As a young man he came to San Juan Bautista, a tiny place in [[Monterey County, California]], applied and was accepted as a teacher. While a resident there he married on 31 Jul 1862 at Trinity Church in San Jose, [[Santa Clara County, California]] to Miss Climena C French and they had two surviving children: Edwin and Grace. His first wife either died, or they divorced by 1877 when he had married again.
