==Early life==
Matthew Ayala "Matt" Sanchez was born Dec 1, 1970 in San Jose, [[Santa Clara County, California|Santa Clara County]], [[California]], the son of Rafael Burgos Sanchez (b 1938) and his wife Noemi Ayala (b 1948), who had been married in 1965 in San Francisco.  Matt states in an interview that both of his parents were born in Puerto Rico.

Matt was raised in San Jose.  He has stated himself that he was born in San Jose, and his birthday (but not year) was on his facebook profile. (Also see the ''U.S. Public Records database'' cited below.)  Checking the California Birth Index confirms a Matthew Sanchez has this birthdate and birth county, with a mother's maiden name of Ayala. Checking the California Birth Index again, we see that he had a brother Marco Sanchez born in Jan, 1970 also in Santa Clara &mdash; we can match them because Marco was also born to a mother with the same maiden name, Ayala.  It seems a bit incredible that she would give birth in January and then again in December but there you have it. Also note that although there is an actor called "Marco Sanchez" (born as "Marcos Sanchez"), he is not the same person.

Rafael and Noemi filed for a divorce Apr 1976 in Santa Clara County.  On a lark, I decided to check the California Death Index and found [http://search.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/sse.dll?indiv=1&db=CAdeath1940%2c&rank=0&tips=0&gsfn=Noemi&gsln=sanchez&sx=&=%2c%2c%2c&gs1co=1%2cAll+Countries&gs1pl=1%2c+&year=&yearend=&sbo=0&srchb=r&prox=1&ti=0&ti.si=0&gss=angs-d&fh=0&recid=6456061&recoff=1+2 "Noemi Ayala Sanchez], born  Oct 4, 1948 in Puerto Rico; died Oct 26, 1983 in Santa Clara County.  Father's [last] name Ayala".  So Matt's parents divorced when he was five and his mother died when he was twelve.

Matt states on a profile that he graduated from [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Independence_High_School_(San_Jose,_California) Independence High School] there in 1988.  Checking the [http://www.classmates.com Classmates] website, I was able to verify that both Matthew and Marco Sanchez were seniors at Independence High School in 1988.  It would be useful if someone were to find his senior class picture. Here's another [http://ih.ca.campusgrid.net/home site] which is called Independence High School's official site, on their wikipedia page.

At one point I ran across some place where he said he'd been a wrestler in high school.  That is confirmed [http://www.cifccs.org/history/wrestling.htm here] where we see "Central Coast Section Wrestling Championship Results - Champions by Year - 1988 - [Weight Class] 165 Matt Sanchez - Independence [High School]". We can see there that at the same time, Marco Sanchez was also a Wrestler. Evidently Marco did better than Matthew, being mentioned in a few other places on the web for his wrestling, finally resulting in competing in the Olympics in Atlanta representing Puerto Rico.

On Dec 17, 2006, a site visitor to the AtKol forums named "cutlass",[http://atkol.com/FORUMS/replies.asp?Forum=3&Topic=8931&ScrollAction=Page+1 identified Matthew "Matt" Sanchez as being the same person as Rod Majors aka Pierre LaBranche] a former gay porn star, and also cited a Jan 25, 2006 ''Columbia Daily Spectator'' online article (which used to be) [http://media.www.columbiaspectator.com/media/storage/paper865/news/2006/01/25/News/A.Firm.Stance-2028984.shtml?norewrite200612172004&sourcedomain=www.columbiaspectator.com here].

His biography at IMDb reports that he started work in gay porn in Quebec in 1992 for Kristen Bjorn on two films but that the following year he moved to San Francisco where he worked for both Catalina and Falcon Studios.

According to his [http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0538273/ IMDb filmography], his first gay porn film was ''Call of the Wild'' in 1992 and his last film was in 1999.  There is a mention on the web that he first started out as an assistant to the producer/director and later starred in two films by that director. In the review of Jawbreaker, we have a description that could possible help in dating whether this was compiled from earlier work "Rod Majors and Daryl Brock try to make a "Will Work for Bed" deal with some randy farmhands (Scott Russell, Ty Russell and Chip Daniels), but the farmhands have other ideas."  So we have four other names.  A check of their career, with dates, could be instructive.

Josh Eliot the director started in 1990 according to IMDb.  Daryl Brock according to [http://www.pornstaremart.com/-/porn_star_bio_movies/castid=6331;layoutmode=0;page=2;tab=2.html/-1AB7278B-A004-4AE2-907C-B136F60F521B this site] was born 4 Aug 1961.  According to [http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0751445/ "Scott Russell" on IMDb], Scott started his career in 1993.  Ty Russell per [http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0751491/ "Ty Russell"] on IMDb started his career in 1993.  And [http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0199864/ "Chip Daniels"] started in 1990.  So no help there.  

I just found a new site which has "scene pairings", i.e. who did he actually appear with... [http://www.iafd.com/matchups.rme/perfid=RodMajors/gender=m here].  That should help in possibly finding a movie, released after 1994, where he appears with someone whose own career did not start until then.

Interestingly, toward the end of his porn career, in Nov 1997, we find Matthew A Sanchez with email address  Mateo70@webtv.net discussing weightlifting [http://staff.washington.edu/griffin/deadlifts97.txt here].

And in June, 1998, [http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0817397/ "Zak Spears"] says that Matt was one of his favorite co-stars [http://atkol.com/replies.asp?Forum=11&Topic=15&ScrollAction=Page+7 here].

Matthew claims now that all of this footage was shot over one or two summers and then spliced into films over several years. But in his interview, hosted on Kristen Bjorn's site he says "I believe I did some 12 videos." He also confirms in that interview that he worked with "Falcon and Catalina [Studios]".

A few bloggers have stated that Matt also was the owner of the website .http://www.excellent-top.com.  That site no longers functions, and the screen-capture that *had been* on the WayBack Machine at the internet archives is now blocked.  However, I was recently sent a screen-capture that someone had done from the WayBack Machine prior to the site's information being blocked.

This screen-capture shows the details of what had been posted to www.excellent-top.com.  The capture has embedded in the HTML, information stating that it was copied to the archives in 2001.  I wasn't able to personally verify the screen-capture information until Mar 29, 2007 when I found a trick that bypasses the robot sentry's on the WayBack machine and allows the page to be viewed.  At that time I took my own copies of everything that I could find on that site.

On Nov 9, 2005, Derek aka muscledbos@aol.com posts a [http://www.amcgltd.com/archives/001684.html note] on a AMCGLTD.COM thread about "dead porn stars" implying that the site, by then, has either ceased operation or perhaps the phone number is disconnected.  His message is simply of the "whatever happened to..." category, he doesn't elaborate. (See External Links section far below.)  When I checked on 28 March 2007, the www.excellent-top.com site was no longer hosting any content and appeared to be for sale, but I copied below the whois information for the site for future reference, in particular showing that the site was re-registered March 2004:

The website now hosts a site for buying range tops.

I was contacted by Willy Wilson, at that time unknown to me, but who has since created his own "Watch Matt" site and later identified himself as journalist Charles Wilson. He claimed that Matt was escorting in 2001/2002.  Wilson stated that he has evidence of that activity.  He forwarded to me a saved version of that escort website where Matt states "Excellent Top [cell phone number expunged by me] In $200, Out $250.  I'm in Miami.  I'm going to strive to make this page as informative as possible. You can always reach me Anywhere at [cell phone number (same as above) expunged].  New York: Midtown on the West Side. The HTML-embedded tag details state "Saved from URL http://www.excellent-top.com, File Archived on 2001.01.24 and Retrieved from the Internet Archive on 2007.03.16". This description was added by the wayback machine (aka internet archive).  This proves that Matt had this website from as long ago as 2001 when the wayback machine archived it.  Then from this same website there are three pictures without heads.  There is also a link called "Hear My Voice" that points at a previously-existent Wave file, of which I now have a copy.

==Escort admission==
Alan Colmes on his [http://www.alan.com/index2.html radio program] in March, 2007, interviewed Matt and on that show Matt admits having been a male prostitute:

==Escort proof==
His escort page stated that when he is in New York he is on the mid-West side. Checking Ancestry's ''U.S. Public Records Index'' I was quite surprised to find that record id 524350950 (sinced purged by Ancestry) stated "Matthew Ayala Sanchez born 1 Dec 1970 address [[331 West 57th St]], [Suite] #363".

The full description of what the "U.S. Public Records database" is exactly is [http://www.ancestry.com/search/db.aspx?dbid=8907&enc=1 here]. This is a database put together by ancestry.com gleaned from "various public records" etc as you can see from their blurb.

He is currently on Individual Ready Reserve, which holds the stipulations that he receive no pay or benefits and is not obligated to drill, conduct annual training, or participate in any military activities until activated by Presidential Reserve Callup Authority.(See the [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Individual_Ready_Reserve Wikipedia article on Individual Ready Reserve]) While in the Marines, he was a part of HQ COMPANY 6TH COMM BN 4TH MARDIV, also known as 6th Comm; they are based out of Floyd Bennet Field in Brooklyn, NY. On that March, 2007 Alan Colmes show, Alan claimed that he had an ad from the ''New York Blade'' from "November, 19, 2004" showing that Matt was still advertising as a masseur at that time. At one point in that show, Matt responds with "Well I am a licensed massage therapist." In an interview with Martha Zoller he states that he "...just became partner at a marketing firm."  Later in that same interview he states "I will be deployed, I will be embedding as a reporter however with a civil affairs unit."

==Jeanne Kirkpatrick Award==

A follow-up article also in the ''Marine Corps Times'' and also by John Hoellwarth appears  [http://www.marinecorpstimes.com/news/2007/03/marine_sanchez_investigation070330/ here] stating that an investigation into him will be wrapped up Mar 30, 2007.

On [http://mattsanchez.blogspot.com/ Sanchez's blogging website] he was, about this time, no longer calling himself "Corporal" Sanchez.  He now claims to not "identify as a gay man".  As I have shown above, the evidence is strong of ownership of a site called excellent-top, advertising in the "masseur" section of the Gay Blade, plus the mentions of him as Matt and Rod Majors, in connection with that same site, as a prositute as late as 2004. "Excellent Top" is not the sort of phrase that would be used in the straight community, nor by a masseur; most straight-people would probably have no knowledge that a "top" is a man who fucks other men, while a "bottom" is the man getting fucked.  The phrase cannot be construed in any other way than as an ad for a male prostitute for men.

To date, although Matthew has claimed that he advertised his masseur services in non-gay publications, exactly when and where these ads appeared has not been forthcoming.

After many violations of the guidelines on Civility, Matt's behaviour and that of all the editors on the article has come up for review at ArbCom.
