Subj: Re: [[Anna Nicole Smith]] Date: 2/28/07 8:07:17 PM Pacific Standard Time From: someguy@io.com (Guy Perry) To: WJhonson@aol.com Just some notes: If you read the 1930 census itself (not the index), the handwritten name for both the father and oldest son reads Luther. The Harris Co., Texas birth records show Luther James Hogan b. 9 Jan 1917 in Harris Co. (no parents listed). He died in Nov 1973 in Hallettsville, Lavaca Co., TX and is buried in the Houston National Cemetery. An obituary for him or for Clarence could help shed light on the family. I've found no record for the sisters (birth or otherwise). Ordering the social security application for either Clarence or Luther James would provide the parents names. Paralee Allman was born 16 Jan 1928 in Leon Co., TX and d. 20 Dec 1991 in McLennan Co., TX. She is buried is the Ferguson Cemetery in Limestone Co. (presumably where Anna Nicholes mother wanted to bury her). She was the daughter of Jonas Caleb Allman (b. 1894, d. 31 Oct 1950 in Ellis Co., TX, bur. in the Ferguson Cemetery in Limestone Co.) and his wife Ada Winchester (b. 29 Mar 1900, d. 24 Oct 1982, Limestone Co., TX, bur. in the Ferguson Cemetery in Limestone Co., TX). Jonas Caleb Allman was the son of Joseph Allman (b. 12 Feb 1841, Cocke Co., TN, d. 5 Jan 1911, Limestone Co., TX, bur. in the Ferguson Cemetery) and Margaret C. (b. 15 Sep 1851, TN, d. 9 Apr 1926, Limestone Co., TX, bur in the Ferguson Cemetery). Margaret received a pension for her husbands Confederate service. Ada appears to be the daughter of L. R. Winchester and his wife Mary. I think they are related to the Winchesters in Leon Co., TX, but have not been able to sort out the relationships. I believe that Clarence was the son of Luther and Vivian Hogan. Other than the 1930 census, I have found nothing more on Vivian. I think, however, that Luther was the son of a Thomas Jefferson Hogan and Emma Adeline Miller. There is a lineage for the family on rootsweb that includes son Luther, b. about 1889 (matches the 1930 census age). Luther is listed on the 1900 census in the family in Howard Co., AR. Thomas Jefferson Hogan (who shows up at least once as Jeff Hogan) was the son of Elcannah Hogan who died in Texas. Carrie Belle Blizzard was the daughter of James Thomas Blizzard (b. 24 Oct 1869 in GA and d. 24 Dec 1954) and Catula Endsley (b. 1 Apr 1875, Cass Co., TX, d. 8 Jan 1967, Cass Co., TX) who married 1 Apr 1891, Cass Co., TX. The Endsley family is traced online in some detail. Most of this information is given in online family histories, but can be verified by online marriage, cemetery, and census records.
