Thomas was born Sep 24, 1841, the son of William B Wright (1800-49) by his wife Mary L W Marshall (1801-) who had married in 1820.  Thomas appears in the 1850 Census of Lincoln County, Tennessee

He died at Point Lookout, Maryland Nov 30, 1863 and was buried in the Confederate Cemetery there.

Enr. 29 April, 1861 at Boon's Hill, aged 21,  wounded in head at Harper's Ferry 14 Sept 1862, shot in the hand at Fredericksburg 12 Dec 1862, and Chancellorsville, VA on 3 May, 1863 in leg. Captured at Falling Waters, MD 14 July, 1863, transferred to Hammond Genl Hospital at the prison camp Nov 1863, died at Point Lookout, MD 30 Nov 1863. Buried 1 Dec 1863 at the Confederate Cemetery there."
