On page 420, "Kent" it is said that "Maud de Holland...married (2nd) at Windsor, Berkshire in Easter week, 1380 (as his 1st wife) Waleran (or Valeran) III de Luxembourg, Count of Saint-Pol....They had no issue" However Waleran is known to have had one legitimate daughter Joan, who was his heir. Joan married in 1402 as his 1st wife to Anthony, Duke of Brabant (1384-1415). Joan died in 1407, but not before having two sons John IV, Duke of Brabant (1403-1427) and Philip, Duke of Brabant (1404-1430) (see Heraldry of the Royal Families of Europe, Jiri Louda and Michael Maclagan. Clarkson N Potter, New York 1981. Table 75 "Burgundy, Second House") Joan could not be the legitimate daughter, and born before 1390 unless her mother was Maud de Holland. submit by Will Johnson [mailto:wjhonson@aol.com wjhonson@aol.com]
