==Elton John==
Elton John was born [[Mar 25]], 1947 in Pinner, Middlesex, England; near London, to Stanley Dwight and his wife Sheila Eileen Harris.  Stanley was a Royal Air Force officer.  They divorced in 1961, Stanley remarried four months later and had four more children including Geoffrey Dwight

Meanwhile Sheila also remarried to Fred Farebrother.  When Elton John wed his Canadian-born boyfriend David Furnish on [[Dec 21]], 2005, (son of Mr Furnish and his wife Gladys) in what was billed as the "first celebrity gay union in the U.K." both Sheila and Fred were invited.

==Stanley Dwight==
Stanley Dwight was born [[Jan 24]], 1925.

He married Sheila Harris sometime before 1947, as their only child was born in that year.  They divorced 14 or 15 years later, sources differ on this point.  Both remarried. Stanley and his new wife having four more children.  Stanley was a Squadron Leader in the (British) Royal Air Force.

He died Dec 1991 "in his home" at Birkenhead, Cheshire, England "age 66".  One source reports that on his deathbed, Stanley had requested to see Elton, who refused.
