==Bette Clair McMurray== Bette Clair McMurray was born [[Mar 23]], 1924 to Jesse McMurray and his wife Christine in Dallas, [[Texas]]. She dropped out of high school at age 17. Her last name is given on the Texas Birth index as "McMurray". When Bette was 19, she married Warren Nesmith, he was sent away to fight in World War II. While he was away Bette had a baby Michael. Sometime after Warren returned home, he and Bette divorced. Betty invented Liquid Paper, first called "Mistake Out" in 1956. Sales started slowly but picked up over the years. In 1962, Bette met and married Robert M "Bob" Graham (born ~1918). They were divorced [[Jul 29]], 1975 in Dallas County. In 1979 she sold her Liquid Paper company to the Gillette Corporation for $47.5 million plus royalties on every bottle until the year 2000. Bette died in 1980, age 56, leaving half her fortune to charity and the other half to her only child Michael. ===Primary documents for 3=== *[http://search.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/sse.dll?indiv=1&db=1930usfedcen%2c&rank=0&tips=0&gsfn=Christine&gsln=McMurray&sx=y&gs1co=1%2cAll+Countries&gs1pl=1%2c+&year=&yearend=&sbo=0&sbor=&ufr=0&wp=4%3b_80000002%3b_80000003&srchb=r&prox=1&ti=0&ti.si=0&gss=angs-d&o_iid=21416&o_lid=21416&o_it=21416&fh=35&recid=111863352&recoff=1+2 1930 Census of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas] showing : "Jess T McMurray, 29, married at age 22, b OK/GA/GA, Manager, Automobile Supply; Christine 29, married at age 22, b AR/TX/TX; Betty Clair 6 b TX; Jeanne 3 b TX" *[http://search.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/sse.dll?indiv=1&db=TXbirthindex%2c&rank=0&tips=0&gsfn=Robert&gsln=Nesmith&sx=&gs1co=2%2cUSA&gs1pl=46%2cTexas&year=&yearend=&sbo=0&sbor=&ufr=0&wp=4%3b_80000002%3b_80000003&srchb=r&prox=1&ti=0&ti.si=0&gss=angs-d&o_iid=21416&o_lid=21416&o_it=21416&fh=13&recid=11279092&recoff=1+3 Texas Birth Index 1903-97] showing : "Robert Michael Nesmith, born 30 Dec 1942, Harris County, father Warren Audrey Nesmith, mother Bette Clair McMurray. ===Secondary sources for 3=== *[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bette_Nesmith_Graham "Bette Nesmith Graham"] on Wikipedia *[http://www.northstar.k12.ak.us/schools/ryn/projects/inventors/graham/graham.html "Bette Nesmith Graham"], by Ginessa, hosted at [http://www.northstar.k12.ak.us/schools/ryn/projects/inventors/index.html Inventors Project, Ryan Middle School] *[http://books.google.com/books?id=tEvKa78L0G0C&pg=PA15&lpg=PA15&dq=%22warren+nesmith%22&source=web&ots=PJiCr1RL_d&sig=5ImR3yYg8do6_GGw17SrPwo5iI4 Total Control: The Monkees Michael Nesmith Story], by Randi L Massingill page 14 : "Bette Claire McMurray was born on March 23, 1924 to Jesse Thomas McMurray and Christine DuVal McMurray....Bette's great-grandfather John Darby was a co-founder of Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia...." *[http://books.google.com/books?id=tEvKa78L0G0C&pg=PA15&lpg=PA15&dq=%22warren+nesmith%22&source=web&ots=PJiCr1RL_d&sig=5ImR3yYg8do6_GGw17SrPwo5iI4 Total Control: The Monkees Michael Nesmith Story], by Randi L Massingill page 16 : "In the early 1950s, Jesse McMurray died and left his daughter Bette some land in Dallas.
