On this same day Mount E Tackett, at the Helena land office, enters 80 acres by Cash Entry, at E1/2SW S21-T6S-R2W Arkansas County. He calls himself "Mount Etna Tackett of Phillips County".
  
 
Alice's father died Jun 1865 and her mother predeceased him. Her brother Marcus was two years younger than she. A family story states that she and her brother Marcus were raised by Edmond Pendleton Gaines Tackett [their first cousin].  This same Edmond settled George's estate and was later sued by Alice and Marcus.  In the depositions of that suit, it states that Alice lived with Edmond until she married, and that Marcus lived with Edmond until he was a teenager.
