Will of Charles McNatt, deceased<br />

In the name of God, Amen. I, Charles McNatt of the State of TN and County of Lincoln, considering the uncertainty of this mortal life, and being of a sound mind and perfect memory, blessed be Almighty God for the same, do make and publish this my Last Will & Testament in the manner and form following to wit;<br />
Item 1. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife, Elizabeth McNatt, my land during her natural life or widowhood, and in case of either event, I want it equally divided between my two sons, John and James McNatt.<br />

2nd; I also give to my wife all my livestock, consisting of horses, hogs, cows, and sheep with the exception of my young gray horse which I give to my son, James, Also my bay filly to my son, John. 3rd, I give to my daughter, Sarah, at her marriage or at the death of my wife, in case she should not marry, a bed and furniture, one cow and iron pot, to make her equal with my other daughters who have received the same portion at their marriage.<br />

4th, I also desire at the death of my wife or marriage, that all the perishable property of all and every kind, shall be divided between my step daughter, Lucinda Cobb, and my four daughters, to wit, Sophia McNatt, Nancy Burns, Mary Wright and Sarah McNatt. <br />

Lastly, I appoint Daniel Warren as Executor to this my last Will & Testament, hereby revoking all other wills made by me. Given under my hand this the 2nd day of October, one thousand eight hundred and forty-seven.<br />
