It is not yet clear whether Malinda's parents came to Lincoln County at this time. An article in the magazine "Lincoln County Pioneers" by Jane Warren Waller Vol. 13, #2, page 49, "Death taken from the Fayetteville Observer Aug. 26, 1875" states : "James Tucker was born in North Carolina, April 27th, 1794 departed this life June 28th, 1863, age 69 years, 3 mons. 1 day." "Mrs. E. C. Tucker was born in the same State, July 10th, 1792, and departed this life August 23rd., 1875, age 83 years and 26 days." " They were married in North Carolina August 14th, 1814, moved to this State in the fall of 1823, professed religion soon after and united themselves with the C.P.
