<-- Back to [[Montgomery Clift]] Funeral of Mrs. Eliza Anderson Brief services were held yesterday afternoon over the remains of Mrs Eliza Bayard Anderson, widow of Maj Gen. Anderson, who commanded the Federal forces at the memorable attack of Fort Sumter when the civil war began. Following the services, the body was taken from the late home of the deceased, 1527 Sixteenth street northwest to West Point, where it will be buried with appropriate ceremonties beside the remains of Gen. Anderson, in the military cemetery. The funeral party, which included the surviving relatives of Mrs Anderson, left Washington at 3 o'clock on a private car. The funeral will take place Thursday.
