Sarah Margaret Ferguson was born 15 Oct 1959 in London, the second child of [[#Ronald Ivor Ferguson|Ronald Ivor Ferguson]] by his first wife [[#Susan Mary Wright|Susan Mary Wright]].  In 1974 her parents divorced. Her mother Susan married Hector Barrantes and moved to Argentina, while her father married Susan Deptford.  Sarah and her sister stayed in England.
