They were married [[Sep 3]], 1943 in Texarkana, Miller County, Arkansas.  He then, in mid-October, went for a tour of duty overseas for World War II.  Just after he returned at the end of 1945, he and Virginia went to live in Chicago, Cook County, [[Illinois]] for a short time.
