Leonard Lalande dit Latreille was the son of Jean, tailleur de pierres and Marie Lariviere. He was of Magnac-Laval, ar. Bellac, ev. Limoges, Limousin (Haute-Vienne). Sergeant of the company of Lorimier. He had an illegitimate child with Francoise Dagenais widow of Pierre Roy named Marie-Therese born and baptized 6 Feb 1697 in Montreal, died and buried on the 18th of that month.

He married 18 Nov 1698 at Lachine (by contract on the same day by Pothier) to Gabrielle Breaune widow of Vincent Jean. They had 12 children, 7 girls and 5 boys.
