On 29 Sep 2010 for several hours starting from about Noon PST, the Knol site while displaying existing Knols, would not allow any edits to Knols to be saved. English Knolians (see also "English speaking Knolians"), don't seem to have a way of informing Knol / Google when there are problems. The Knol Help page does not appear to be monitored any longer. I posted a message on Knol Help, but it does not seem to me, that any authority at Google is looking on that page.
By poking at the Knol Help persona, I discovered that one of the German Knol Help pages was updated as recently as 28 Sep 2010. Very odd. Knol Help is updating pages in German but not responding to anything in English. So I posted a message on the German page, stating, in English, that when you edit a page, and then try to save it, you get an error and nothing you've done is saved.
I cannot tell how many hours the site was failing, but as I write this now (7 PST on 29 Sep 2010), everything seems to be back to normal.
