Lady Gaga - Diva Of Pop Mystery, writen by Reed Tieri

Lady Gaga was born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta on March 28, 1986. She was raised mainly in New York City by her father Joseph Germanotta, an Italian American Internet entrepreneur. She began her career in music back in 2003 playing the local rock music scene within and around the Lower East Side of Manhattan. During this period, she was also enrolled in enrolled at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts for continued education. Her musical and vocal talents were quickly discovered by the recording label Interscope Records which signed her to their sister label Streamline Records. Her early work with Interscope was being the songwriter for other singers and artists signed to the label. It was long before Akron, working under Interscope, took notice of her abilities and signed her to his label "Kon Live Distribution."

On August 19, 2008 Lady Gaga's debut album dropped "The Fame" and rose to #1 on the charts of UK, Canada, Austria, Germany and Ireland. The album quickly spread and saw instant success with the singles "Just Dance" and "Poker Face" which were co-written and co-produced with RedOne. The singles instantly rose to the top of the Billboard charts, and a true "pop diva" was born. Her music and artistic style gained prestige notoriety when "The Fame" went on to receive six Grammy Award nominations, winning awards for Best Electronic/Dance Album and Best Dance Recording. The early success of the album was quickly followed up with her first headlining tour named "The Fame Ball Tour." Not resting on her quick and remarkable successes Lady Gaga pushed out another album in the end of 2009 named "The Fame Monster" which included the global phenomenon single "Bad Romance" that again jumped to the top of the charts. The album led to her second headlining tour in the same year, "The Monster Ball Tour."

Lady Gaga follows in the pop/glam genre of many other theatrical artists such as David Bowie and Queen. She has quickly been mentioned in the same likes as Madonna for both her songwriting and fashion style. Though she is relatively young and fresh to the pop music culture that many respected pioneers help pave, she almost instantly became respected by her peers. Lady Gaga has been ranked 73rd Artist of the 2000–2010 decade by Billboard, In May 2010 and Time magazine included Lady Gaga in its annual Time 100 list of the most influential people in the world. In June 2010, Forbes listed Lady Gaga fourth on its top list of the "100 Most Powerful and Influential Celebrities in the World." Her record sales for 2010 have exceeded 15 million sold and her singles have sold over 40 million worldwide.

While Gaga's influences can be heard and seen she certainly has broken out into her own. Her heavy 1980's glam rock style, breakout fashion sense and Europop beats have taken the world by storm. Today the singer/songwriter is considered the most important figure in pop music as well as culture for the last ten years. Her music talents on piano add depth to her over-the-top performances and prove she is not just a "one hit wonder" or "fly-by artist." Still in the early stages of her already impressive career clearly there is much more for the world to see and Lady Gaga is sure to deliver.
