The City of Redwood City invites you to apply for the position of SUPERVISING IT ANALYST. The Supervising Information Technology (IT) Analyst job classification includes all of the duties of the Senior IT Analyst, as well as supervisory responsibilities. This position is responsible for both development of new systems, maintenance of existing systems, testing, implementation, evaluation of new and existing software, and supervision of IT Analysts. The Supervising IT Analyst must have a wide variety of applications experience, with a minimum of three years of experience with financial applications, preferably governmental - including but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budget, business license, payroll, general ledger, and utility billing. The candidate must have demonstrated an ability to work independently and to provide excellent customer service.The Supervising IT Analyst is expected to function at a higher skill level than the other analysts; to exercise more independent direction and judgment; and, to plan and organize the workload and responsibilities for the software development team. This position is expected to receive less detailed instructions than is given to the other analysts, and to operate more independently. The candidate must be able to translate user requirements into new systems as well as to modify and maintain existing systems. This position has responsibility to visualize changing technology and user requirements and to plan for the future. This position will train and supervise other software development analysts. This position will be expected to advise the IT Manager on issues impacting their respective areas of responsibility, and may serve as the acting division manager on occasion. In addition to software support duties and supervisory responsibilities, the Supervising IT Analyst must be able to develop, train, and enforce working procedures and standards as required by the Division's most current direction and vision.
