Scrooge (1970) fantasy musical classic literature (playlist - complete)

based on the novel by Michael Crichton; starring Arthur Hill, David Wayne, James Olson, Kate Reid
Scoop 7 has crashed to Earth, evidently carrying an alien germ with it, which has wiped out a small town.  The government moves in, with scientists and a media blackout.  This movie was one of the best of it's kind for the 1970s, and it still plays well to today's audience.
Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971) fantasy
The Omega Man (1971) science-fiction, starring Charlton Heston

A family of seven, all died in the same house by suicide or murder.  Film director John Ireland decides to shoot their story in the house where they all died.  John Carradine as the house's caretaker.  One of the dead appears to be a little restless.  Somewhat interesting movie-in-a-movie and definitely held up by the performances of John Ireland and John Carradine, but not the best of this kind.

Can you spot Al Molinaro later to become more famous as Al on the TV-series "Happy Days"?
Can you spot Charlene Tilton later to become more famous as Lucy Ewing on the TV-series "Dallas"?
The Food of the Gods (1976) horror added 21 Aug 09 screenplay, produced and directed by Bert I Gordon
loosely-based on a novel by H.G. Well's of the same name
starring Marjoe Gortner, Pamela Franklin, Ralph Meeker, Jon Cypher, Ida Lupino
People have been polluting the Earth for too long and now it's time for revenge.  A hick farmer and his wife find a bubbling pool of polluted muck and decide to mix it into their chicken feed.  (I'm not making this up I swear!)  Well the animals start to grow huge and all hell breaks loose.  It's a little dated but still watchable, riding the thin edge between good entertainment and bad B-movie.
Trivia: You remember Ida Lupino from the "Twilight Zone" episode "The Sixteen-Millimeter Shrine"

Starship Invasions (aka Project Genocide) (1977) science-fiction added 18 Aug 09
    starring Robert Vaughn, Christopher Lee
Space aliens whose sun is dying, seek a new planet to colonize, so they visit Earth.  Meanwhile other space aliens want to stop them. Although Robert Vaughn gives a reasonable performance as a scientist who is enlisted to help the good aliens, some of the actors in this B-movie are pretty bad.  Only watch on a slow night, lots of other good stuff to see first.

Return from Witch Mountain (1978) fantasy adventure

A spacecraft crew crashes onto a planet of dinosaurs.
    Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7, Part 8, Part 9
This is quite possibly the all-time worst dinosaur movie ever made.  You tell me.  The only thing that saves it from complete snoresville is boobs and muscles.
