    • Guests invited to the opening of a new theater transform into monsters.  Not much of a plot and the acting is thin, mostly consisting of screaming and shouting.  This has the look of perhaps being an Italian movie, dubbed in English.  Basically a vehicle to present you with massive amounts of blood, gore and pus.  So if that's your thing...

    • starring Sandra Bullock, Hugh Grant, Alicia Witt, Dana Ivey, Robert Klein, Heather Burns
    • produced by Sandra Bullock, written and directed by Marc Lawrence

  • Nefertiti: Queen of the Nile (1961) romance added 28 Aug 09
    • starring Jeanne Crain, Vincent Price, Edmund Purdom
    • One of the worst opening credit sequences ever, fire the editor!  I think this movie was made in Italy and then re-dubbed for release in the U.S.
    • Nefertiti (Jeanne Crain) living under constant watch yearns for a life of freedom so she can be with her lover Edmund Purdom.  Vincent Price is the High Priest of Amun who thwarts their love by sanctifying her as the bride-to-be of the Pharoah.
  • White Zombie (1932) horror added 28 Aug 09
    • starring Bela Lugosi
    • A young couple are invited to Haiti to get married, but unbeknownest to them, their host has fallen in love with the woman and uses a local Voodoo doctor to try to lure the woman away.
    • This is apparently the first movie released in the U.S. to include zombies.  Dark, brooding, sinister.
  • The Haunted World of Edward D Wood Jr (2009) biography added 28 Aug 09
    • Skip the first 1:20 which is just a bad overture.  We first see C.J. Thomas today mentioning how he met and partnered with Ed Wood.  The first film clip features Bela Legosi, this is possibly from "Plan Nine from Outer Space" (the worst film ever released), but I'm not sure.  Then we see Maila Nurmi "Vampira" in shadows merely saying "Edward D Wood Jr".  Next we see a clip from "Glen or Glenda" showing Ed in drag while his girlfriend Dolores Fuller freaks out.  Then we see Dolores today talking about Wood.  And so on.  Possibly the ultimate documentary-biography and last word on Ed Wood.  Also check out my brief scan of his ancestry at "The Ancestry of Ed Wood Jr"

  • The Godson (1998) comedy added 27 Aug 09
    • starring Rodney Dangerfield, Kevin Hamilton McDonald, Dom DeLuise
    • Oh... My.. God.  This is that guy we all know Kevin McDonald from "Kids in the Hall" !
    • Ok at any rate, when Sonny Calzone gets stabbed, shot, beaten, run over and trips on his shoelace and whacks his head and dies, his younger brother Guiseppe "Guppy" Calzone (Kevin McDonald) has to be trained to take over the Calzone crime family.  So his father, Dom Deluise sends him to mob school.  If you like Rodney Dangerfield and really stupid gags, shtick and bad puns... hit it!
  • Gotti (1996) law and order biography added 27 Aug 09
  • Home Town Story (1951) drama added 27 Aug 09
    • starring Jeffrey Lynn, Donald Crisp and Marjorie Reynolds
    • also notice Alan Hale Jr and three-minutes of camera time for Marilyn Monroe, as a secretary, at time 15:33 - 16:22
    • Blake recently defeated for political election, blames a local businessman. When he returns to his home town, he takes over the newspaper and launches a campaign against big business.
  • Stranger from Venus (1954) science-fiction added 27 Aug 09
    • starring Patricia Neal, Helmut Dantine, Derek Bond
    • Set in England.  After Patricia Neal crashes her car upon seeing a flying saucer, a stranger appears at a local pub.  After some initial suspicion, he finally states that he is from Venus.  Although essentially left unmolested, the Army and war department move in to take control of the "situation".  And as usual screw everything up.  Meanwhile Patricia falls in love with the visitor.  This is a fairly decent, watchable version of the visitor-from-another-planet movie.

    • starring Tim Curry, Trini Alvarado, introducing Robin Johnson

  • Rescue From Gilligan's Island (1978) comedy adventure added 25 Aug 09
    • made-for-TV movie starring Bob Denver, Alan Hale, Jim Backus, Natalie Schafer, Judith Baldwin, Russell Johnson, Dawn Wells
    • Silly comedy using the same character's from the TV-series Gilligan's Island, except Ginger since Tina Marie didn't want to play the part any longer.  They have a wacky idea about how to survive a coming tidal wave and possibly get rescued in the bargain.
    • It's mindless, but hey, sometimes mindless is just what you want.

Special thanks to cinemillenium2 for this next movie:
